Who We Are

We are families, advocates, educators,
researchers, and policy influencers.

The Texas FASD Network grew out of a small caregiver support group started a few years earlier and became a nonprofit organization in 2020. Since then, it has developed into the only statewide organization in Texas that brings together families, leading advocates, experts, and allied healthcare professionals. Through advocacy, education, and support, the Network works to improve the system of care for individuals affected by prenatal alcohol exposure, ensuring families and professionals have the resources and knowledge they need to help these individuals thrive.

Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) are estimated to affect 1 in 20 children in the United States. FASD is associated with brain-based differences, including emotional and psychosocial developmental disorders. FASD, when unsupported can be extremely difficult for individuals and their families. There is no functional system of care for FASD in Texas. We are working to change that. Early diagnosis and FASD-informed supports improve outcomes.

OUR MISSION

Support, educate, and advocate for those with prenatal alcohol exposure and the community serving them.

OUR VISION

Each person prenatally exposed to alcohol accesses appropriate interventions and accommodations to achieve their full potential and be empowered in all aspects of life.
